Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy and Aesthetic Treatments and Hair Restoration
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy is quickly becoming recognized as a revolutionary treatment in the anti-aging and medical aesthetics community. Leveraging the natural, healing power of your blood, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy offers a natural, non-surgical alternative for Aesthetic and Cosmetic treatments. With over a decade of success using PRP in orthopedic applications, many Anti-Aging and Medical Aesthetic physicians have begun to unlock the potential of PRP Therapy used on the skin, breasts, buttocks and more.
Skin that is not as full, plump and elastic as it once was will begin to show the familiar signs of aging – lines, wrinkles, creases, and loose, sagging skin. Used in facial rejuvenation, Platelet Rich Plasma is injected in and around the problem areas allowing the growth factors contained in the blood platelets to stimulate regeneration in the cells and tissues of the dermis and promote the production of new collagen. The results of PRP Therapy leave patients with smoother, more elastic, plumper, tighter, brighter skin – which, of course, means a more youthful appearance.
Packed with growth and healing factors, platelets initiate the body’s natural repair process and attract the critical assistance of stem cells. While the science behind Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy is complicated, the concept is simple; enhancing the body’s ability to restore and heal itself by delivering concentrated levels of the healing blood platelets to the affected areas.
Nobody learns how to treat patients with Neurotoxins and Dermal Fillers in their basic medical or nursing education. These cosmetic injection procedures do not belong to any one specialty or group of providers.
8-hour beginner/16-hour advanced neurotoxin class includes didactics, theory, anatomy, and extensive hands-on training. The class will allow participants to learn how to treat upper and lower face wrinkles with Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin safely and effectively. Each participant should become competent in the injections of neurotoxins. The course equips participants with experience in the injection of botulinum toxins “on” and “off” label. Didactics, theory, anatomy, and extensive hands-on training is provided during the 2-day session, allowing participants to begin performing neurotoxin procedures immediately upon taking the class.
CLASS AGENDA
As you know, with any new procedure, the more often you perform it the more comfortable you will become. This is why we recommend treating your friends and family before officially adding neurotoxins (botox, dysport, xeomin) injections to your practice’s roster, so that you can learn to see even the very subtle differences between your patients’ facial structures.
Our class agenda will cover training techniques and tips to help you while you are gaining experience.
- 1. Understanding Facial Anatomy
It is vital that before you treat your first patient you are absolutely sure that you understand facial anatomy. You need to make sure that you know, not just the proper names of each muscle, but its location and function. You also need to know where veins are placed. Some healthcare providers find it helpful to keep a facial injection chart on hand (see attachment). In addition to making it easier to quickly review, they are helpful tools in explaining the details of a neurotoxin injection to your patients.
- 2. Remember Your Neurotoxin Training
There is a reason “go back to the basics” is repeated so often: it works. If you start to feel overwhelmed treating patients, think back to the training you received. Mentally walk yourself through the different neurotoxin techniques you learned while you were getting your training.
- Neurotoxin Training
PRO TIP: Do this as part of the conversation you have with your patient about the procedure before you perform it. Talk them through every step of the process both before and as you are administering it. The repetition will be helpful and it will put your patients at ease.
- 3. Triple Check Your Neurotoxin Labels
Many companies manufacture neurotoxins, but there are a few manufacturers of the botulinum toxin. Each manufacturer has a minimum saline: botulism ratio that you will need to follow. The reason we bring up this seemingly common sense tip is because it is entirely possible that your practice will include stock from multiple manufacturers. Always triple check which product you are using before you begin the prep process:
Check during the drug’s preparation.
Check when you remove it from storage.
Check again just before administering the injections.
- 4. Mind Your Details
Double check even tiny details. Here are a couple of tips from our neurotoxin training program:
Make sure the alcohol you used to sterilize the cap has completely evaporated before you begin preparing your neurotoxin injection serum. Otherwise, some of the alcohol may find its way into your vial.
Have everything you need ready before the patient arrives, including needles, gauze, and a marking pen if you use one. Placing everything on a small mayo tray is helpful.Always take photos! Patients often don’t pay attention to what they looked like before they came in and may have forgotten about that small depression they had since birth!
- 5. Neurotoxin Needle Choice Is Important
The needle you choose for the procedure will play a large role in managing patient pain during a neurotoxin injection. We recommend using a short, single use needle, like an insulin needle that is 31, 32-gauge when you can. These are available through any medical supplier, like McKesson or a compounding pharmacy.
- 6. Dosage Matters
Neurotoxins are not a “one size fits all” treatment. Every patient is different and it is important to measure the correct dose not just for the correct procedure but for the individual patient. In addition, gender makes a difference, males have larger muscles than females, thus require a higher dose. For example, for a cosmetic procedure like the treatment of Glabellar lines, you may administer anywhere between 10-40 total units depending on the person’s muscles.
- 7. Neurotoxin Technique Tip: Watch the Eyes
When you are administering neurotoxin treatments for glabellar and canthal lines (two of the most popular procedures) you need to make sure that your bevel tip is pointed up and aimed away from your patient’s eye(s). With glabellar injections, make sure that your injections are all, at minimum, 1 cm above the orbital rim. Listen to faculty member, our staff will discuss the landmarks to keep in mind when injecting a botulinum toxin, like Botox, disport, or Xeomin.
- 8. Patients Only Remember the Pain
Injections are almost always going to be at least a tiny bit painful for your patients, even when you use small needles. To improve your patient’s comfort, you can numb the area with blt for the injection areas before you administer the procedure but remember this will take at least an additional 30 minutes and is usually not necessary. The simplest way to do this and because the injections are shallow, is with ice. Numb the area a minute or so before administering the injection to ensure optimum patient comfort.
- 9. Only Hit Home Runs
Unfortunately not everybody is a good candidate for neurotoxin treatments. Some people are more prone to serious side effects than others and for some the treatment simply won’t be effective. Your patient’s history, their current medical status, etc. are all important considerations you need to take into account before agreeing to treat a patient. Be thorough during your interviews and exams!
- 10. Project Positivity
Remember, while there are medical reasons to use neurotoxins, most of the patients who are interested in cosmetic injectables are insecure about some aspect of their appearance. It is important to be an empathetic listener and to pay very close attention to your patient’s emotional responses to your advice. If you are too “gung-ho,” your patient might worry that you agree with their insecurities. If you are too clinical, they are less likely to feel safe placing themselves in your hands.
You learned a lot about bedside manner when you were in medical school. Now is a good time to go back to step one and review what you’ve learned. This is what your patients will remember more than anything else. It is what they will communicate to people when they review your practice or decide to recommend you to their friends and family members.
Remember! It’s natural to feel a little bit out of your depth as you begin to administer these procedures to actual patients. Use these tips as a guide as you gain experience and grow your practice.

TRAINING DATES: 8/17-18/23, 9/14-15/23, 10/12-13/23, 11/9-10/23
Regenerative medicine is a way of helping to promote the healing of damaged tissue by enabling the body to regenerate new tissue to replace what has been damaged or lost. It is distinctly different in that it promotes actual healing rather than simply treating the symptoms of injury or disease through medication and medical devices.
Though regenerative medicine is not a new concept, it has not enjoyed widespread adoption in the U.S. over the past few decades. Things are changing, though. Every day, more doctors and medical clinics are coming to realize that regenerative medicine is not only helpful for all sorts of diseases, congenital issues and trauma, but it also promises to be an important part of the future of medicine globally. VAC is on the cutting edge of regenerative medicine today, providing clinicians the training opportunities that will allow them to begin offering new services in their offices. Our current course offerings include both orthopedics and neuropathy.
Our orthopedic training course is led by Dr. Lisa Caprio, Linda Johnson NP, and Dr. James Rowe. who has been using regenerative procedures techniques and products since 1995. Our staff has extensive knowledge of regenerative medicine used and applied to injuries, disease, sexual dysfunction etc. This is a hands-on course complete with live demonstrations involving real patients as well as practitioners that choose to receive treatments.
*Training also includes touching on strategies for effectively marketing your services to patients.

10. ADVANCED LASER TRAINING $2999 (NP’S, PA’s, AND MD’S) TBA
VAC’s advanced cosmetic laser education is a vital step before performing advanced laser techniques. We provide hands-on multi-faceted instruction for individuals who want to stand apart from the pack. Individuals who only take part in the bare minimum certification aren’t receiving the necessary training to operate the full range of lasers that are utilized in cosmetic laser practices. In order to operate ablative lasers you must further your education in lasers. At VAC we provide the training and experience that students need in order to practice exceptional laser treatments in any medical office. Many laser technicians aren’t equipped with hands-on experience prior to their first client interactions. The curriculum at VAC is designed to change that.
Our primary course is made up of a 2-day intensive training procedure that immerses students in a real-world setting while they learn from skilled cosmetic laser industry veterans. We aren’t cutting corners with any of our instructions. VAC starts with the basics of safety and works all the way through cosmetic laser training procedures that are ablative.
Having all of the equipment in-house, coupled with the expert knowledge of VAC’s instructors, pushes students to apply and retain valuable information about cosmetic laser equipment and techniques. We firmly believe in giving students the opportunity to work in a realistic environment, so they can successfully provide cosmetic laser care to future patients.
This course covers laser technology that merges with growing trends in the cosmetic field today, such as:
- Tattoo Removal
- Fractionated CO2
- Toenail Fungus

TRAINING DATES: 8/26-28/23
When you begin your program in permanent makeup, also called tattooing, micro-pigmentation or dermapigmentation, you will be taught the fundamentals of permanent cosmetics. This includes permanent eyebrow, eyelash and lip liner procedures, color selection, beginners consultation and general application.
DID YOU KNOW: The difference between a cosmetic tattoo and a typical tattoo is that cosmetic tattoo needles use a puncture mechanism, whereas typical tattoos are created when the needle vibrates.
Practitioners of permanent makeup are as diverse as the demand for their services. Although most are cosmetologists, tattoo artists have added this skill to their services, and even physicians and nurses have trained permanent makeup artists. Because of this wide variation in the background and goals of permanent makeup artists, your training options range from a two-day mini-course to a yearlong apprenticeship (recommended).
Cosmetic tattoo artists should expect a yearlong apprenticeship with fees paid to the trainer. As a result of growing demand and stricter regulation, permanent makeup training facilities usually offer in-depth professional training for six months or more, which we recommend.
This course includes not only the art of applying permanent makeup but also courses on the use and sterilization of equipment and health considerations. Other coursework can include working with pigments, pre and post-care of permanent makeup applications, and anatomy of the skin. This program includes both theoretical and hands-on training from a qualified instructor.)
In this 16-hour class students will learn how to perform permanent makeup techniques along with blading. Hands-on training is a part of this course and participants should bring a model or be willing to be treated themselves. Models will have appointed times.
